As requested, WJV Acoustics, Inc. (WJVA) is providing this letter as an addendum to the acoustical
analysispreparedfortheGreentreeDevelopmentProject(datedMay12,2021).Specifically,thisletter
is intended to address potential noise levels associated with activities occurring at the proposed
amphitheatertobelocatedattheSouthNeighborhoodPark,andtoevaluatepotentialimpactsfrom
amplifiednoiselevelstoexistingandplannedsensitivereceptorlocations.
TheGreentreeSouthNeighborhoodParkproposestoincludeanoutdooramphitheateravailableforuse
byarearesidents.Theamphitheaterwouldbelocatedwithinthesouthernportionoftheprojectsite.
Theclosestsensitivereceptorstotheproposedamphitheaterlocationareexistingresidentiallanduses
locatedapproximately 200feet tothe northwest(Bighorn Court)andproposedresidentiallanduses
locatedapproximately200feettotheeast(CourtE).
Arequesthasbeenmadetoincludeelectrificationattheamphitheater, for the purpose of utilizing
amplifiedspeechandmusic.Itisassumedthatanysoundsystemtobeusedattheamphitheaterwould
berelativelysmallinnature.Theamphitheaterisorientedsuchthatthestagewouldbesouth‐facing,in
the general opposite (and side) direction of the nearby existing(andplanned)sensitivereceptors.
Amplifiedsoundsystemsandspeakersaredirectionalinnature,meaningthatnoiselevelsarehighestin
the direction that the speakers are oriented to face toward. Additionally, the amphitheater would
includeamasonrybackdropwallconstructedtoapproximately6‐8feetinfinishedheight.
Theapplicablenoisestandardsfortheamphitheater(andassociatedamplifiedspeechandmusic)would
bethenon‐transportationnoisestandardsprovidedonTableII(page8)oftheoriginalacousticalanalysis
